Pongal

Procedure:

Fry the rice and dal in a small quantity of oil. Add 6 cups water and cook in pressure cooker.

Heat oil or ghee and add the cumin seeds. Fry a few seconds and add ginger, pepper corns and curry leaves.  Add seasoning to the cooked rice and stir in, mashing the rice and dal together.

Serve with Sambar.
