I was born in Cardiff, South Wales, lived in Bombay, India for six years before moving to the US. During the day I am a software Technical Architect, but in my spare time I like to listen to music and write. Actually I don't get too much spare time since I got married.
I have lots of unpublished articles and stories that I never seem to get time to finishing off and getting published (see below for a possible explanation). Hopefully, with time, I will add them to this site.
A few years back (well, 1993, if you insist on being exact) I married Kalpana.
This is us on our wedding day (11th April). We are,
in the words of our daughters, an "Odd but lovable couple". Kalpana, together with her daughters, Piya (24) and Saloni (23) have solved my spare time problem (I don't have spare time anymore) and relieved me of the worry of what I should spend my money on
(they spend it for me). In return they have given me a meaning to life and immeasurable pleasure.
Kalpana doesn't have interests, she has obsessions. Her latest is HTML and web pages. If you haven't already done so, please visit her page. If you read my story, The PC, you might have wondered how things progressed. Her computer phobia has been replaced by a consuming passion for PCs and an addiction to the Internet. If she is deprived of her daily connection time, she gets irritable and restless. Two days of deprivation and she is no longer her warm affectionate self; withdrawal symptoms turn her into a bundle of nerves and anxiety.
I don't seem to get enough time to browse these days. When I do manage to find time (and coax my wife away from the PC), I like to visit these sites. I hope you find some of them interesting too. Do you have a site you think I should know about? Go to my links page and tell me about it.
I went to college at The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. There I studied theoretical organic Chemistry, but learned more than I could possibly imagine about things I didn't know existed. I developed an interest for old Norse literature; I read about Buddhism and Chinese philosophy. Our professor promised to teach us how to learn. That was the most wonderful gift anyone has ever given me. I carry it everywhere and try to spread it on to those who will receive it.
Many thanks to everyone who has come with helpful comments to make these pages better. I am especially grateful to my wife, Kalpana, who has not only made endless suggestions, but also given me time on our home PC so that I could actually make the changes.
